In reply to Josh J.. Josh, thank you for writing in. My heart wants Vale all day, but Jorge has the speed. But, once again Vale managed to do the right thing this past weekend again. One thing that could be overlooked is that Rossi never panicked when he was 3 seconds back. Some would crash trying to go with Jorge. Then when it looks like Rossi is in a bad spot, it all turns around. Smartest is still winning and fastest has to be getting frustrated. :)

I like Jorge but I am reminded of 2006 when he gave it to Nicky. That was very generous of him and I think he is going to keep this one for himself.

Thanks for posting these blogs Jason, I definetly agree with you on the potential outcome this year and watching Marquez run to hard will most likely hurt him. They are all amazing riders though so much fun to watch.

I agree with everything you said in this blog but I’m still counting on Rossi to take the championship. He is the smartest, as you said, but he is also cunning and clever. He may have to change the weather or who knows what. He has my total support.

P.S. I liked Pedrosa’s smile, too. And that was a great battle!

I agree, i think Jorge has the best shot. I normally would go with the smartest, but at the stage, continually losing a few points each race trumps any kind of strategy. Now if Vale can stay with Jorge and utilize his tactics to edge past line checkered a couple times – game on. Otherwise, faster will overshadow smarter… math is math, can’t get over it.

I think you are spot on. It is also interesting to note that those with flat track experience do the best on the road.

I believe the late Gary Nixon once said that the way he prepared for road racing was to ride in the rain. Of course this was back in the day when AMA Championships required you to be good at RR, TT and Flat track.
